Forty-five coin dealers from across the South displayed their wares to coin shoppers at the Fourth Annual Southern Memorial Coin Show at the Read House Saturday and Sunday.

The Metropolitan Opera National Company will come to Chattanooga on May 16-17 with its full component of 27 principal singers, 32 chorister dancers, and 45-piece orchestra to present three operas; Madame Butterfly, Cinderella, and Carmen, at the Memorial Auditorium.
Monday, March 28
Miss Dianne Clayton of Madison County High School, Gurley, Ala., was chosen 1966 Queen of the tri-state area Future Farmers of America at the 26th annual banquet held in the Patten Hotel sponsored by the area development committee of the Greater Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce.
Sebert Brewer, chairman of Erlanger Hospital board of trustees, announced that Robert L. Maclellan, president of Provident Life and Accident Insurance Co., and John Gaither of the law firm of Witt, Gaither, Abernathy & Wilson, have accepted the invitation to serve on the advisory committee known as “Friends of Erlanger.” Other members of the committee are Henry Trotter, Tom McAfee & Mrs. Garrison Elder.
Tuesday, March 29
Dr. LeRoy A. Martin, president of the Univ. of Chattanooga, and Mrs. Martin will move to 619 W. Brow Rd, Lookout Mountain, about April 1 to permit extensive redecoration of UC’s President’s House on Oak Street which will be occupied around July 1 by UC’s president-elect Dr. William H. Masterson and family. Dr. Masterson will take over his new duties July 1 when Dr. Martin will become Chancellor of the university.
Dr. Paul Bode, new headmaster of Girls’ Preparatory School, will take up his duties as head of the 60-year old girls’ school in July. Dr. Bode and his family, who have been visiting in Chattanooga, left for their home in Austin, Texas.
Wednesday, March 30
Norman V. Watson, executive director of the Chattanooga Housing Authority, said the $1.8 million neighborhood development program for Highland Park would be submitted to the Department of Housing and Urban Development this week and he was hopeful of quick approval for the project.
Dr. M.M. Young, Director of the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Health Dept. announced that the Chattanooga-Hamilton County area has dropped from fifth to tenth place in tuberculosis death rate among the largest cities in the United States.

Chairman Herman Walldorf of the Hamilton County board of equalization, Wednesday submitted his resignation to County Judge Frost, leaving the County Court with the task of electing three new members to the five-member board at the squire’s quarterly meeting Monday.
Friday, April 1
Jack Carr, principal of Kirkman Technical High School and president of the Chattanooga Education Association, will be recommended by Supt. Bennie Carmichael to the Chattanooga Board of Education to be director of secondary education for the city school system, it was learned Wednesday.
Mrs. Richard S. Kelly, East Tenn. Nursing Consultant assigned to the Chattanooga-Hamilton County area, and Mrs. Peggy Bales and Miss Joan Clark, both Public Health Nurses with the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Health Department, attended a Nursing Supervisors’ In-Service Education meeting recently held at the Cordell Hull Building in Nashville. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss ways and means of implementing the Home Health Service to meet specifications of Title XVIII of the Social Security Act.
