Robert Backer has been named principal broker of Coldwell Banker Pryor Realty. He replaces Peggy Pryor, founder of the firm, who’s retiring from the position.

In his new role, Backer is responsible for recruiting, hiring and training new and experienced real estate agents. He will also retain his listing duties as a full-time Realtor.

Backer has been with Pryor Realty since he began his real estate career in 1997. He’s been the top agent in the office for the past 19 years and has consistently been a top performer both locally and nationally.

In 2017, Backer was named one of America’s most productive sales associates as a part of REAL Trends America’s Best Real Estate Agents, the annual ranking report produced by REAL Trends and sponsored by Zillow Group.

“Robert has been an important asset to Pryor Realty since he first walked through the door in 1997,” Pryor says. “His positive attitude and commitment to the highest quality service for his clients have made him one of the top Realtors in the Chattanooga area and the nation.

“With his years of experience and the attention he devotes to every aspect of the realty business, I could not have handed control of this firm to a more highly qualified individual.”

Backer is an Accredited Buyer’s Representative, a certified relocation specialist and a certified new home specialist. He serves on the board of the Greater Chattanooga Association of Realtors and is a member of the National Association of Realtors and the Tennessee Association of Realtors.

“I love what I do, and after more than 20 years in the field, earning my broker’s license felt like a natural step forward,” Backer says. “My mom used to work at Pryor Realty, and I’ve spent my entire career here. I’m honored that Peggy invited me to continue her legacy as the firm’s principal broker.”
