Baker Donelson hosts memory seminar

Like most attorneys, Pat Vital has more than a few things on her mind. When am I due in court? Where are my notes for the cross-examination? How am I going to remember the points of my closing argument?

On any given day, Vital, a family attorney, could be preparing for a trial, strategizing the marketing of her solo practice and interacting with her clients through various media, all while juggling personal obligations and the needs of loved ones with her efforts to maintain a healthy quality of life and positive outlook.

View from the Hill: Boyd’s campaign haunts UT presidency debate

Randy Boyd probably knows the age-old sermon about reaping what you sow. Realtors tackle environmental concerns

As I thought about a topic for this week’s column, I kept coming back to all the rain lately – not just our area but across the country.

In addition to that issue, other communities have been battling wildfires. Recently, homeowners across the country have been evacuated due to both natural disasters, reminding me of the importance of Realtors continuing to work on behalf of all property owners.

How to find an honest contractor

Although there are dishonest people who might try to profit from your misfortune, a fly-by-night contractor is one problem you can prevent if you follow a few simple steps.

Critic‘s Corner: Gotta have Hart? No, and ‘Night School’ confirms it

The comedy of Kevin Hart has been lost on me. I know the man’s movies and stand-up comedy performances have made him rich and popular, but I don’t think they’re funny.

As I purchased a ticket to “Night School,” Hart’s new comedy, I tried to keep my skepticism in check. “Maybe he’ll actually make me laugh this time,” I told myself.

Understanding risk tolerance is essential for investment success

To succeed as an investor, you might think you need to know about the economy, interest rates and the fundamentals of companies in which you’d like to invest. And all these things are indeed important. But it’s most essential to know yourself. Specifically, you need to know how much risk you are willing to tolerate to achieve your goals.

Recent infrastructure reviews revealed a culvert on Ashland Terrace would require attention.
