Virginia Love, an avid cyclist, will face not one, but three mountains on May 6 as she tackles the 100-mile arm of the 3 Mountain 3 State Challenge. The grueling trek will take her through Tennessee, Alabama, and Georgia, and over Suck Creek, Sand and Lookout Mountains, and involve a climb of over 6,000 feet.

In 2008, Wanda Sweatt, a school cafeteria worker, was diagnosed with an aggressive form of lung cancer. She was working, paying her bills, and getting by, but she didn’t have health insurance. Today, she’s cancer free. She credits Project Access, one of the key services of the Chattanooga Medical Society, with saving her life.

The Chattanooga Civi-tan Club is entertaining the Appalachian District of Civitan International three day convention. George F. Hull of Chattanooga, administrative office for the TVA, was installed as governor of the Appalachian District.

In the original animated movie, “101 Dalmatians,” Pongo the Dalmatian watches pairs of dogs and their owners walk past his window. Each pair looks oddly similar: an afghan hound and its shaggy-haired owner; a pug and a round, short woman on the other end of the leash; a poodle and its similarly coiffed owner; and so on.
