WTCI to host annual family day event
WTCI will host its annual Family Day on Sunday, Nov. 11, 1-4 p.m., at 7540 Bonnyshire Drive. The free event will feature green screen activities, storybook reading, a petting zoo, tours of a Chattanooga Fire Department fire engine, face painting, games and more.
Photo opportunities will be available for children with Clifford, Curious George and Super Why! Guests are invited to bring a gently-used book to benefit Hamilton County Department of Education schools and a canned good item or new socks to support Chattanooga Community Kitchen.
ChattaNeuter fundraiser at FEED Co.
ChattaNeuter will host its second annual FEED Co. dinner and fundraiser on Thursday, Nov. 15. Chef Charlie Loomis will create a multiple-course dinner designed to be matched with several selected beers, 5:30-7:30 p.m. In less than two years, ChattaNeuter has spayed and neutered over 10,000 dogs and cats through partnerships with the Humane Educational Society, East Ridge Animal Shelter and dozens of rescue groups. Crossing the Cumberlands
Stories and sounds from traditional and modern musicians will converge at the Tivoli Theatre on Saturday, Nov. 17, for “Crossing the Cumberlands,” a night of music to benefit the Cumberland Trail. The concert will feature Sierra Hull, a new leader in the acoustic music world with mandolin albums produced by Alison Krauss and Bela Fleck. 7 p.m. Concert proceeds will support the maintenance and protection of the Cumberland Trail, a 300-mile corridor and hiking trail running from the Cumberland Gap to the edge of Chattanooga. Grateful Gobbler Walk
Registration is open for the 19th annual Grateful Gobbler Walk, taking place Thanksgiving morning at 8 a.m. at Coolidge Park. Teams and individuals can register to walk, volunteer or donate at www.gratefulgobblerwalk.org. The proceeds will benefit the Maclellan Shelter for Families, which features 13 units with 64 beds.
Guided hike on the Cumberland Trail
Join Outdoor Chattanooga, 200 River St. in Coolidge Park, for a guided hike on the Cumberland Trail on Saturday, Dec. 1 at 1 p.m. Trained guides will lead registered participants on a five-mile hike that’s rated as moderately strenuous to explore a unique section of the trail.
