Fillauer named Spirit of Innovation Award recipient

Prosthetic manufacturer Fillauer is the recipient of the 2018 Spirit of Innovation Award presented by the Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce.

Fillauer is the designer the NEXO system, an upper extremity prosthesis that’s 50 percent lighter than other prosthetic products, with options for various wrist and elbow attachments and PEEK rods that are flexible and reduce both vibration and pressure on the residual limb.

The Chamber also honored Spirit of Innovation Award finalists Motivo, an online platform providing clinical supervision for mental health credentialing, and employee feedback platform WorkHound.

Presented by the Chamber and sponsor Bridge Innovate, the Spirit of Innovation Awards honor businesses that originated in the region and have potential to impact many people and bring about change either within one industry or across a broader spectrum.

Other awards presented included the Educator Innovation Award, presented by the Chattanooga 2.0 Action Team to Chris Seanard of Dalewood Middle School for his work with the school’s VW eLab and the Early Innovator Award, presented by the Chattanooga Technology Council to Security Centres International (USA) for their Mobile Advanced Safety Tower, which provides security and life safety services on a mobile, solar-powered, HD video surveillance and communications tower.
