The Chattanooga Symphony & Opera will open its 86th season on Thursday, Sept. 27 at 7:30 p.m. at the Tivoli Theatre with Piazzolla’s “Four Seasons of Buenos Aires.” The performance will feature award-winning 21-year-old violinist Eduardo Rios.

Dedicated to Hispanic Heritage Month, the concert will feature Hispanic and Latin composers, works inspired by themes and elements from Latin cultures and pre-concert music provided by East Lake Expression Engine, a music project dedicated to providing quality music education to area students.

The CSO will also perform Gershwin’s “Cuban Overture,” Mexican composer Revueltas’ “La noche de los Mayas,” a unique work that includes 13 percussionists and a conch shell, and the world premiere of Douglas Hedwig’s “Fanfare Alegre: Dia de la Fiesta.”

Following the concert, ticket-holders will be invited to meet the musicians and guest artists during a reception held in the lobby.

Tickets: 423 267-8583 or chattanoogasymphony.org.
