SunTrust gives $10,000 to Siskin for STAR Program

SunTrust Foundation has awarded a grant of $10,000 to Siskin Children’s Institute to support its Siskin Testing and Assessment Relief program.

STAR assists families without insurance or those underinsured with expenses associated with the testing and assessments process of children with special needs. The results from the testing can determine a child’s diagnosis and the treatment or interventions that might be needed to help them reach their full potential.

“The institute is grateful to the SunTrust Foundation for helping relieve the financial stress that families with children who have special needs experience with the challenges of insurance reimbursements and medical coverage,” says Deborah Elwell Arfken, interim president and CEO of Siskin Children’s Institute.

“Giving children with special needs and their families the knowledge and confidence they need to be successful in life is something the SunTrust Foundation and SunTrust Bank care deeply about,” says Jim Vaughn, SunTrust Bank East Tennessee market president. “That’s why the SunTrust Foundation is pleased to support Siskin Children’s Institute for their dedication to fostering an inclusive society for children with all abilities.”
