GCR, Brown to moderate ethics event

Leigh Brown, CEO of RE/MAX Executive, is spearheading a nationwide fundraiser and training event on June 27.

Brown will teach the National Association of Realtors Code of Ethics class to participating associations across the U.S. Greater Chattanooga Realtors is sponsoring this event, which is a nationwide fundraiser for the Realtors Relief Foundation.

The NAR launched RRF within hours of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks and raised more than $8.4 million to help surviving family members stay in their homes. Since then, the RRF has raised more than $25 million for victims of disasters, including wildfires, tornadoes, floods and hurricanes.

“Born out of my passion for the RRF, this National Ethics Day fundraising event is going to knock the ball out of the park,” Brown says. “I believe the Code of Ethics should be incorporated into your business every day, and this class is the first step.”

The National Code of Ethics class will be live-streamed from 1-4 p.m. GCR will host the class at Chattanooga State Community College, HSC Building, room 1085, to accommodate more attendees.

Known for selling one house every 1.3 days, Brown is a native of North Carolina who grew up in and around residential real estate. She joined her father, Darrell Thomas, in the business in 2000.

Leigh is a member of several real estate networks, including the Council of Residential Specialists, the CyberStars (top 240 agents nationally) and StarPower. Leigh is also a graduate of UNC Chapel Hill, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration.

Brown’s  designations include Accredited Buyer Representative, Certified Residential Specialist, Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist, ePro, Seniors Real Estate Specialist and Certified International Property Specialist designations.

Brown also completed the Certified Distressed Property Expert training to help families in financial distress. Her continuing education also includes ecoBroker training.

Brown is also a member of the MilRES network, which provides her with information on assisting active duty military, veterans and their families. Finally, Leigh was inducted in the RPAC Hall of Fame in 2014.
