Allstate agency owners and financial specialists from the Chattanooga area recently came together with Allstate volunteers from six neighboring states to secure a $103,000 Allstate Foundation Helping Hands grant to benefit the American Cancer Society.
The Chattanooga-area volunteers earned the grant for the American Cancer Society by walking and providing event support such as passing out water at the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event held Oct. 15 at Chattanooga State.
The American Cancer Society will use the grant to further its work in breast cancer research, support services and early detection.
The participating Allstate volunteers are among thousands of agency owners and financial specialists around the country working to strengthen communities by volunteering their time to support the causes they care about most.
“As a breast cancer survivor, I was proud to give back to the American Cancer Society and those they help who are currently affected by the disease,” says Chattanooga Allstate agency owner Esther Suggs.
“I’m grateful for the Allstate volunteers who joined me in raising funds to improve the lives of people affected by cancer.”
The American Cancer Society is one of thousands of organizations this year to receive Allstate Foundation Helping Hands grants secured by agency owners and financial specialists on behalf of the nonprofits where they volunteer.
The grants support organizations addressing domestic violence, youth empowerment, disaster preparedness, hunger and other causes.
