Construction on Exit 1 underway

Construction began this week on the long-awaited Exit 1 Interchange Reconfiguration.

The project will allow northbound traffic exiting onto Ringgold Road easier access to the new Jordan Crossing shopping complex as well as Camp Jordan Park.

The reconfigured exit ramps will combine both northbound exits (1A and 1B) into one exit that will allow drivers to turn both east and west onto Ringgold Road. Phase 1, which will combine both exit ramps and access to Jordan Crossing and Camp Jordan Park, as well as an altered northbound entrance ramp to I-75, is slated for a preliminary opening of Nov. 30.

Traffic in the area of Exit 1 will be congested during construction.

Drivers are cautioned to leave for their destinations earlier or find other routes. Final completion of the project is slated for 240 calendar days, or approximately May 2, 2018.
