Three names sent to governor for court opening




The Trial Court Vacancy Commission met Wednesday, Aug. 30 to consider nine applicants for the Circuit Court vacancy in the 11th Judicial District – Hamilton County. The vacancy was created by the Hon. W. Neil Thomas III, who announced he will retire effective Oct. 5.

After holding a public hearing and conducting public interviews, the Commission selected the following nominees: James Exum, III, Kyle Hedrick and Jennifer Peck.

Exum is a member at Leitner, Williams, Dooley & Napolitan. He focuses on premises liability, motor vehicle liability cases, insurance coverage, breach of contract and other general insurance defense.

Hedrick is a partner at Ramer & Hedrick. He concentrates on personal injury cases, nursing home negligence defense and insurance litigation.

Peck handles cases involving family and juvenile matters at Peck Legal Group.

The Commission has forwarded the names to Gov. Bill Haslam for his consideration.
