Lt. Gov. Randy McNally has tapped Chambliss, Bahner & Stophel attorney Harold L. North Jr. to serve on the Trial Court Vacancy Commission.
The Trial Court Vacancy Commission fills vacancies in Tennessee’s trial courts. The commission conducts an interview process for applicants and submits nominees to the governor when there’s a vacancy in the office of chancellor, circuit court judge, criminal court judge or judge of any other state trial court of record.
It is composed of 11 members – five appointed by the lieutenant governor, five appointed by the Speaker of the House and one chairman appointed by both.
“I’m honored to have been chosen to serve in this position by Lt. Gov. McNally, especially since my late colleague, Bart Quinn, held this appointment and served this commission diligently for many years,” North says.
North is a shareholder and member of the litigation section of Chambliss. He’s a fellow of both the Chattanooga and Tennessee Bar Foundations, former Hamilton County Republican Party chairman, and past president of the Chattanooga Bar Association and Rotary Club of Chattanooga.
