Tough times don’t last. But tough people do. Just ask Chattanooga native LaToya Pollard, the local Habitat for Humanity’s 265th homeowner.
In 2011, Pollard started a new job and received a new lease on life as a wife. She also became pregnant. But before her son was born, her husband went to prison. Seven months after his release and on their son’s fourth birthday, Pollard’s husband was tragically killed.
Pollard entered Habitat’s homeownership program two years ago, and on Saturday, Feb. 4 she received the key to her new home.
