Newsmakers: Chambliss elects 4 board members




The Chambliss Center for Children, a Chattanooga community childcare nonprofit, recently elected four new members to serve on the agency’s board of directors.

Cam Born, Teddi Mendel, Jim Miller and Cindy Wilkerson were selected.

“Year after year I am amazed at the level of talent we have within our board,” says Phil Acord, President/CEO of Chambliss Center for Children. “We have tremendous leadership in place, and are grateful for the passion, professionalism, and insight these new members will bring to our agency.”

Born, an executive diabetes specialist with Novo Nordisk, is chairman of the board for On Point and serves on multiple committees at Normal Park Museum Magnet School.

Mendel is a retired Hamilton County educator who taught for many years at Sunnyside Elementary School and is an adjunct professor at UTC.

Miller, vice president of Southern Champion Tray, is a returning board member.

Wilkerson is a retired educator with the Hamilton County School System who has volunteered for the agency with many special projects.

Chambliss also elected new officers. Paul Fitzgerald with Northwestern Mutual will serve at two-year term as chairman; Ross Schram with Baker Donelson was elected as vice chairman; Hugh Brown with Pendleton Square will serve as treasurer; Kelly Lopez with Schnellecke Logistics was elected to the assistant treasurer’s position; Anne-Marie Spencer with PlayCore will serve as secretary; and Catharine Bahner Daniels, owner of Plum Nelly, will serve as past chairwoman.

CHI Memorial welcomes Reich

Angela Reich, WHNP-BC, is joining CHI Memorial Medical Group.

Reich received a bachelor’s in nursing from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and a master’s in nursing from Vanderbilt University.

She is also board certified as a women’s health nurse practitioner by National Certification Corporation.

Reich joins Maurice Rawlings, M.D., Betsy Washburn, M.D. and Casey Waddle, FNP, at CHI Memorial Breast Care Associates located in the MaryEllen Locher Breast Center.

The team is committed to providing support during diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care for women with breast cancer. 

The practice welcomes new patients at both its locations: 605 Glenwood Drive, Suite 103, Chattanooga, 2051 Hamill Road, Hixson.
