Free rides to the polls
Officials with GoVoteCHA have partnered with a team of pastors and community leaders to offer free rides to the polls to any voter residing in Hamilton County. This transportation service will be provided during early voting, which started Wednesday, Oct. 19 and will continue through Thursday, Nov. 3, and on Election Day (Tuesday, Nov. 8). There are four early voting sites in Hamilton County:

Choral Arts of Chattanooga performance
The Choral Arts of Chattanooga will host a free public performance of “American Songs of Inspiration & Devotion” Saturday, Oct. 29 at 7:30 p.m. at 2nd Presbyterian Church (700 Pine St.). Southern Adventist University centennial celebration
Southern Adventist University will celebrate its 100th year in Collegedale, Tenn., on Sunday, Oct. 30, from 2-5 p.m. at Veteran’s Memorial Park in Collegedale. The free event will feature activities for all ages, including live music, games, gymnastics performances, food vendors, and an antique car show. Founded in 1892 in Graysville, Tenn., Southern moved to Collegedale in 1916. Known then as Southern Training School, the college enrolled 57 students its first year in the city. The school is now a nationally accredited university with nearly 3,000 students pursuing degrees ranging from associate to doctoral. Free fall concert at VW
The Mid-South Symphonic Band will perform Sunday, Oct. 30 at 3 p.m. at the Volkswagen Conference Center, located at 8001 Volkswagen Dr. The concert will be free and open to the public. The Mid-South Symphonic Band is comprised of 75 musicians from the greater Chattanooga area who perform under the direction of Jim Souders. v
