The Tennessee Supreme Court has appointed Miller & Martin attorney Bob Parsley to a five-year term as a special assistant to the Tennessee Board of Law Examiners.
The Board of Law Examiners governs the examination and licensing of attorneys who wish to practice law in Tennessee. The Board employs 12 assistants – four from each grand division of the state – as bar examiners who are responsible for preparing and grading essays for the Tennessee Bar Exam.
Parsley has also accepted an invitation to become a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation. The American Bar Foundation is dedicated to serving the legal profession, the legal academy, and the public through research, publications, and programs that advance justice and foster greater understanding of the law. Membership as a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation is limited to one percent of lawyers admitted to practice in each jurisdiction. Invitation to the Foundation recognizes professional achievements and continuing dedication to improving the legal profession.
Parsley practices primarily in civil litigation, with concentrations in commercial and healthcare litigation and appellate practice. He is chair of Miller & Martin’s Appellate Practice Group and is the immediate-past chair of the Tennessee Bar Association Appellate Practice Section. Parsley also serves as director of the Miller & Martin Writing Academy, the firm’s in-house professional development program for legal writing. Parsley has presented numerous CLE programs and has published articles on a variety of legal issues in law reviews and other legal journals throughout the United States.
