Chambliss law firm adds two to estate planning and tax practice

Sarah Johnson and Ashli Smith

Chambliss, Bahner & Stophel last week announced two recent additions to the firm’s estate planning and tax group.

Johnson is a certified public accountant who comes to Chambliss from the public accounting firm Elliott Davis Decosimo. Johnson works in the Chambliss estate planning and tax department, assisting clients with tax planning and compliance. She prepares tax filings for individuals, trusts, small businesses, and foundations. Additionally, Johnson is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants, and Chattanooga Tax Practitioners.

Smith, a certified paralegal through the National Association of Legal Assistants, works with individuals and families on an array of estate planning matters. Her responsibilities include overseeing the drafting of estate planning documents, implementing beneficiary and account changes, communicating with clients, and keeping client files and information accurate and up to date.

“The addition of each of these talented women bolsters the firm’s ability to provide high level expertise in a cost-effective manner,” stated Mike St. Charles, president and managing shareholder for Chambliss. “We are very pleased to have them on the Chambliss team.”
