Cabela’s will celebrate the grand opening of its new Fort Oglethorpe, Ga., store on Wednesday, May 13, with a unique ribbon-cutting ceremony followed by a weekend-long celebration featuring giveaways, family activities, and more.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony, hosted by Cabela’s executives and special guests, will begin at 9:45 a.m. and conclude with the grand-opening ribbon being cut by an arrow shot from a bow by a local Cabela’s employee. Doors will open for business at 10 a.m.

A complete schedule of events will be available on www.cabelas.com/fortoglethorpe when finalized.

The store is located at 350 Cobb Parkway off Exit 353 of Interstate 75 in a development currently anchored by Costco. Cabela’s has employed approximately 200 full-time, part-time, and seasonal employees to staff the 72,000-square-foot store, most coming from Fort Oglethorpe and the surrounding area.

The store is designed to surround customers in an outdoor-like experience with log construction, stonework, a large mountain replica, aquarium, indoor archery range, dozens of museum-quality wildlife displays and natural, outdoor sounds. Also, it will include a deli, fudge shop, Gun Library, and Bargain Cave.

In addition, the store’s staff will offer educational seminars and demonstrations throughout the year providing tips and insight on outdoor products and activities.
