Keller Williams Downtown celebrates 2014 accomplishments in style

When you ask WRCB anchor Jed Mescon to host your awards event, you set yourself up for more than a few laughs. And that’s just what Mescon gave the over 100 agents, brokers, and staff members of Keller Williams Downtown (KWDT) during its raucous 2014 awards lunch, held Wednesday, Feb. 25 at The Mill.

Mascon started the gags early as Scott and Janet Henninger stepped up to receive the KW Superlative award for cutest couple. “Are you happily married, or do you just stay together for the business?” he asked. When Scott gave him a stiff answer, Mascon said, “You need to let some air out, buddy. This isn’t a prostate exam!”

“But you are a very nice looking couple,” he said as the Henningers returned to their seats.

Other Superlative award winners included: Jeff Nowland, Best Dressed; Joe Pleva, Social King; Diane Patty, Social Queen; Steven Sharpe, Most Likely to Change the World; Kiwana Morrow, Most Helpful to Any Agent Anytime; Mark Hite, Most Likely to be on a Reality Show; Emily Glover, Most Likely to Post to the Web; Fidel Fonseca, Most KW Spirit; Tracey Rickman, Most Handy Around the Office; Lisa Gibson, Flies Under the Radar; and Michael Lane, Most Congenial.

KWDT also announced several sales awards for 2014, a year during which the company saw a 30 percent increase in listings, a 21 percent increase in closed volume, an 18.5 percent in Closed GCI (gross commission income), and a 22.8 percent increase in closed units.

Other awards included: Natalie Henson, Rising Star;Louellen Smith, Rookie of the Year; Anne Najjar, Shooting Star; and Hite, the WI4C2TS award, which encompasses all of the things that make a great Realtor, such as commitment, integrity, and creativity

Everyone reserved some applause for the announcement regarding the identity of their new team leader, Nathan Brown, which was done via pre–recorded video. “I feel incredibly blessed to be returning to Chattanooga to work with all of the amazing brokers and other individuals who make up Keller Williams Downtown Chattanooga,” he said. “And I’m honored to be the one who will lead us into our next chapter.”

Brown returns to KWDT on Monday, March 16 after a three–year absence.

“He’s got great teeth and good hair,” Mascon quipped.

With that, the jokes and the awards program ended, and everyone returned to the business of serving clients and doing the work that will earn them honors in 2015.
