Charlie Poss, attorney with Leitner, Williams, Dooley & Napolitan, has joined the Executive Board of Directors of Mark Making. Mark Making is a Chattanooga non-profit with a mission to enhance the town with public art and to engage the public in the creation and production of art.

Board President Christa Mannarino asked Poss to be on the Board.

“I had worked with Christa when she was executive director of AVA, and I was the president of the AVA Board. Christa is so intelligent, motivated and organized that I knew it would be a great opportunity,” Poss said. “I was also familiar with several other Board members, who I knew were top notch individuals, and with Frances McDonald, the executive director, who is an amazing artist and who has such a great passion and energy for working with children to inspire them as artists.

Poss’s mother was an artist, which gave him an appreciation for artists and the work they create.

“Public art has such great power to make people think and talk about what they see, and also to beautify places and spaces that are in need,” said Poss. “I like the way Mark Making is able to encourage and help children through the arts while bettering our community with public art.”
