Members of the Hamilton County Medical Academy staged a big reunion last night at the Mountain City Club. Dr. E.B. Wise was toastmaster. Judge Bancroft Murray presented a book to the newly elected president, Dr. E.B. Anderson. It was a “trick book” that exploded when opened. Dr. W.G. Bogart is the retiring president.
Mayor T.C. Thompson left last night for Miami, where he will deliver an address before the organization of Florida Mayors.
J.A. Cunningham returned to Henderson, Ky., yesterday. Mrs. Cunningham will remain the guest of Mrs. Will Cummings and Mrs. E.F. Wheland.
Sunday, Jan. 10
Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Lasley expect to get possession of their new home on East Terrace in two weeks. Miss Gwendolyn Lasley leaves Monday for school at Westover.
Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Spears will have as guests Mr. and Mrs. S.H. Alexander of Jasper. They will arrive Tuesday.
The Chattanooga Automobile Company invites the public to see the new Cadillac. The eight-cylinder, 1915 Model 51, five-passenger automobile sells for $2,800 (FOB Detroit).
Monday, Jan. 11
Elaborate preparations have been made for the annual business meeting tonight of members of the local YWCA. Miss Mary W. Thatcher, president of the board, will preside.
Miss Myrtle Lachman and Mr. Edward Kahn were quietly married last night at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Morris Lachman. Rabbi Julian Miller officiated. After a wedding trip, the couple will return here to reside.

Miss Elise Chapin will go to San Antonio, Texas, to visit her grandfather, Capt. Hutcheson.
Mrs. Dunbar Newell will entertain with an informal tea for Miss Flora Loveman. The guest list is confined to neighbors.
Mrs. E.R. Betterton, Mrs. E.R. Betterton, Jr., Mrs. F.B. Holt, Mrs. Locke Holt, and Miss Whitlow Betterton will leave for a month’s stay in Cuba, stopping en route in Florida.
Wednesday, Jan. 13
Supporters of “Vote for Women” suffered their second serious defeat in the House by a vote of 204 to 174. The suffrage leaders say they are not discouraged and will try again.
Death claimed the 84-year old father of Jessie M. Littleton and Martin W. Littleton yesterday when Thomas J. Littleton died at his home in Kingston. Mr. Littleton served in the Federal Army with Col. Byrd’s First Regiment.

Dr. E.A. Elmore has returned from a trip to New Market and Marysville.
J.B. Sizer, Judge J.J. Lynch, Attorney General F.M. Thompson, and Carlyle Littleton have returned from Washington, D.C.

Mrs. J.M. Gager is able to be out after an illness of two weeks.
Miss Helen Kline will entertain with a dinner for her guest, Miss Rose Sprinkle.
The Hon. and Mrs. S.R. Van Sant of Minneapolis will arrive to be the guests of Col. and Mrs. D.M. Steward, who will entertain their guests with a dinner Monday night.
