Barnes & Noble launches annual holiday book drive

Barnes & Noble’s annual holiday book drive is taking place now, and will continue through Jan. 1. The book drive provides an opportunity for customers to donate books through locally designated non-profit organizations. Last year, Barnes & Noble customers and booksellers provided more than 1.5 million books to over 2,000 local charitable organizations that provide services to children across the country.

Holiday Book Drive recipients throughout the country include schools, libraries, literacy organizations, family social service agencies, and homeless centers. This year, Barnes & Noble Hamilton Place, located at 2100 Hamilton Place Blvd., will be collecting books for READ20 Chattanooga.

In addition to the holiday book drive, Barnes & Noble Hamilton Place will be holding a book fair fundraiser for READ20 Chattanooga Saturday, Nov. 29 through Monday, Dec. 1. A variety of events are planned, including story times with Mrs. Claus and a Grinch Day Celebration on Monday, Dec. 1 featuring local storyteller Sam Trapnell.
