Public notice for appointment of U.S. Magistrate Judge

The Judicial Conference of the United States has authorized the appointment of a full-time United States Magistrate Judge for the Eastern District of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

This position is created by the upcoming retirement of Magistrate Judge William B. Mitchell Carter.

The current annual salary of the position is $183,172. The term of office is eight years.

A full public notice for the magistrate judge position is posted in the office of the U.S. District Court Clerk, located at 900 Georgia Ave., Room 309, and on the Court's website at www.tned.uscourts.gov.

Application forms are also available on the Court's website or may be obtained from the Clerk's Office.
