Police Chief Fred Fletcher last week made his picks for top leadership, releasing the names of 15 newly promoted individuals from within the Chattanooga Police Department (CPD). This announcement comes several weeks after Chief Fletcher was appointed.

“I am honored to announce today’s promotions. Together, these individuals have served our community for a total of 200 years, illustrating their experience, commitment, and pride in being a Chattanooga police officer,” said Chief Fletcher.

Chief Fletcher added that leadership begins at the top, saying, “I believe we have placed the right officers in the right positions to carry our police force to the next level.”

“This is an exceptional team,” said Mayor Berke of the new leadership. “There is no doubt these dedicated men and women will provide the leadership necessary to make our streets safer and serve our community.”

New assistant chiefs include Capt. Tracy Arnold, Capt. Eric Tucker, and Capt. Danna Vaughn. New captains include Lt. Corliss Cooper, Lt. Kim Noorbergen, and Lt. Tommy Wood. New lieutenants include Sgt. Craig Joel, Sgt. Adrian “David” Gibb, and Sgt. Tammy Cook. New sergeants include Off Joshua May, Off. Michael Ortel, Off. John Luquer, Off. James Tate, Off.
