Hamilton Place officials held a dedication ceremony last weekend to celebrate the inauguration of the Siskin Children’s Institute Fountain, dedicated to bringing awareness and support to children with special needs and their families.
The fountain will serve as a reminder of the iconic wishing wells Mose and Garrison Siskin placed all over the city to allow anyone the opportunity to give a penny or more toward the Siskin mission of helping children with special needs.
“The Siskin Children’s Institute Fountain at Hamilton Corner and the generous gift from Hamilton Place follows in the spirit of what the Siskin brothers started long ago,” said John Farrimond, president and CEO of Siskin Children’s Institute. “Decades ago, our founders, Mose and Garrison Siskin, created wishing wells that allowed the community to give small donations to help children with special needs and their families.”
Hamilton County Mayor Jim Coppinger congratulated both Hamilton Place and Siskin Children’s Institute, and highlighted the importance of partnerships between public and private entities.
After the brief ceremony, children armed with baskets sought to find hidden eggs in front of the nearby stores. Allison Thompson, a parent in attendance, was excited to be a part of the festivities. “It was our 10-month-old daughter, Ruby-Jane’s, first egg hunt. Not only was the event a lot of fun for us but we were able to support Siskin Children’s Institute, a center we love, support, and believe in.”
