Saturday, March 25

A tentative budget of $7,111,369 for the 1961-1962 term of the Hamilton County schools was approved Friday by the board of education. The sum is an actual increase of $655,315 over the present annual budget.

Sunday, March 26

Dr. Marten Hoor, retired

dean of the College of Arts

and Sciences at the Uni-versity of Alabama, was the principal speaker at the dedication ceremonies of Cadek Hall of the university of Chattanooga Sunday afternoon.

Tuesday, March 28

The Courthouse office of County Court Clerk will be open until 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday as an accommodation to motorists who have not obtained their 1961 Tennessee auto and truck license.

Wednesday, March 29

Moore & King Phar-macy will build a modernistic drive-in drug prescription shop at 4515 Brainerd Road within a few weeks. According to Joe King, the new store will be a branch of Moore & King Pharmacy at Market and Ninth. Gilbert King and Albert Johnson are the other partners.

Annexation of the Stu-art Heights-Rivermont area by Chattanooga would be detrimental to this community for a long time to come, J. Burton Frierson, Jr., president of Dixie Mercerizing Company, has testified.
