Monday, October 31
Leon Haley, Jr., has been appointed chief deputy to Criminal Court Clerk Clyde M. Sanders. Haley, a deputy in the office for more that ten years, succeeds Sanders, who was appointed clerk to succeed Chester L. Frost, who resigned as criminal court clerk just before he was sworn in as county judge.

Wednesday, November 2
County Judge Chester Frost and Mayor Olgiati joined in proclaiming Amer-
ican Education Week in
Hamilton County and Chattanooga starting Sun-
day, Nov. 6. The theme for the observance on a nationwide scale is “Strengthening the Schools for the Sixties.”

Thursday, November 3
Mose and Garrison Sis-kin, Chattanooga philanthropists, will be featured in a Saturday Evening Post article Nov. 12. Sidney Shalett, former Chattanooga newspaperman, wrote the article entitled “They’re Giving Away Their Fortune”.

Friday, November 4
Hamilton County’s voting machines were given a careful “going over” by election officials and representatives of Democratic and Republican parties and are ready for the Nov. 8 election, according to registrar Al S. Barger.
