Jay Robinson with the Robinson Team of Keller Williams recently sold one of region’s best-known properties: The home of the late Sharon Mills.
Located on the top of Elder Mountain on 26.5 acres, the 11,266-square-foot house sold for over $4.6 million.
“Sharon Mills was a collector. From her exquisite art collection to the orchard designed by heirloom apple expert Tom Burford, the Mills’ home was filled with art and collectibles, with the home itself considered the largest piece of art,” Robinson notes.
The home was built in 1998 and features discreet sections that are connected by a common thoroughfare. The house fans out from a kitchen and dining room pavilion that’s rotated 15 degrees to look up river and leads to the primary bedroom, which is rotated 15 degrees in the opposite direction to look downriver.
Architect Hugh Newell Jacobson designed the home.
As the sale on the Mills’ home concludes, Robinson says he’s looking forward to his team’s next significant sale.
