Newsmakers: Oncologist Wilkes joins CHI Surgical Associates




Surgical oncologist Dr. Justin Wilkes has joined CHI Memorial Surgical Associates.

Wilkes earned his medical degree from the University of Iowa’s Carver College of Medicine and completed a general surgery internship and residency at Maine Medical Center, where he served as chief resident. Wilkes then completed a complex general surgical oncology fellowship at Moffitt Cancer Center in Florida.

He is certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a member of the American College of Surgeons and the Society of Surgical Oncology.

First Horizon promotes Morrison to manager

First Horizon Bank has promoted Robin Morrison to private client relationship manager. Morrison began her career with First Horizon 25 years ago and previously served as manager of the South Broad banking center.

Morrison earned a degree in finance from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She is a graduate of Leadership Chattanooga, a member of the executive board of the Chattanooga Ballet, a member of Chattanooga Women’s Leadership Institute and a former board member of the Junior League of Chattanooga and the Chattanooga Chamber’s Southside Council.

Morrison also is a member of the South Broad Redevelopment Group and serves as a commissioner for the Tennessee Public Utility Commission.

Konrad accepts new referrals role at Siskin

Tara Konrad is the new referral relations coordinator at Siskin Hospital. Konrad is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships within the local and regional medical community.

She will educate referral sources about the inpatient and outpatient clinical programs Siskin Hospital offers and assist in the development of additional patient care programs.

A registered respiratory therapist with 28 years of clinical and supervisory experience, Konrad is the former director of respiratory care for Siskin Hospital. She also brings more than 10 years of health care sales experience to her new position.

Konrad earned a degree in business management from Bryan College and will graduate in December with an MBA from Western Governors University.

Parkridge Valley names Whipple chief nursing officer

Parkridge Valley has named Amy Whipple the chief nursing officer for its network of behavioral health facilities in Chattanooga.

Whipple served as the assistant chief nursing officer for the Parkridge Valley Adult Campus and Parkridge Valley West Campus from 2016 until her promotion.

In her new role, Whipple will provide executive oversight of all three Parkridge Valley behavioral campuses – Parkridge Valley Adult Campus, Parkridge Valley Child & Adolescent Campus and Parkridge West Hospital – as well as serve as the Parkridge Valley program director for the behavioral health service line.

Whipple has more than 25 years of clinical and managerial experience in behavioral health services. Since joining Parkridge Valley, she has led numerous initiatives, including the development of the Parkridge Valley Adult nurse practitioner program and the incorporation of a patient intake center.

Clark honored by state parks association

Christina Clark, park and recreation supervisor for Collegedale, has received the Tennessee Recreation and Parks Association’s 2021 Distinguished Young Professional Award. The award recognizes outstanding service to the parks and recreation profession and community.

Clark has been a parks and recreation professional for nearly 11 years, beginning with her job with the City of Chattanooga Parks and Recreation Department. Clark joined the City of Collegedale, where she serves as supervisor of Parks and Recreation Department, in 2020.

In 2019, Clark was elected TRPA president for the 2020-2021 term. In her leadership role, Clark designs workshops, sessions and conferences.

She is also the co-creator of a Facebook group that enables TRPA members across the state to share advice.
