South Bound event to feature local poet Christian Collier




Southern Lit Alliance will host an outdoor South Bound event featuring local poetry July 29 at 7 p.m. at Sculpture Fields Park.

Spoken word poet and Chattanooga native Christian Collier will recite poetry at various sculptures around the park, which is located at 1800 Polk Street.

Wine and refreshments will be served. Tickets are $15.

Collier is an accomplished poet, musician, educator and public speaker, having shared the stage with HBO’s Def Poetry cast, poet and activist Ishmael Reed and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame members The Impressions.

Collier was featured on TNT’s “State Farm Neighborhood Sessions” with Usher Raymond and has published his work in The Seven Hills Review, Dirty Chai, Freeze Ray, Voicemail Poems, Calliope Magazine and The Origami Poetry Project.

Most recently, Bull City Press named a poetry chapbook of Collier’s a 2021 Frost Place Competition Editors’ Selection.

Sculpture Fields is an internationally-acclaimed sculpture park in Chattanooga located in Montague Park. Stretching across 33 acres, the park boasts 41 different sculptures from various artists.
