Rise Partners recently added third-party commercial brokerage advisory services to its array of offerings, serving investors, tenants and institutions over a variety of property types in the Southeast U.S.

Wilson McGinness and John Tugman joined the firm to lead the new division.

McGinness and Tugman bring over 35 years of combined real estate experience in the industrial, office and retail commercial markets – including pre-leasing big box industrial, retail leasing, land acquisition, dispositions and urban redevelopments – to the company.

McGinness is responsible for the growth and performance of the brokerage division. He has represented tenants and landlords in the leasing, acquisition and disposition of over 15 million square feet.

Before joining Rise Partners, McGinness was the director of leasing at JDK Real Estate for over 10 years. While there, he was responsible for an approximately 2 million square foot portfolio of industrial space in Tennessee and Georgia.

McGinness also performed site selection and tenant representation across the country for one of the nation’s leading third-party logistics companies, where he represented multiple Fortune 500 companies.

McGinness is a graduate of The University of Georgia, where he received a degree in finance.

Tugman will also be responsible for the growth of the brokerage division. He is a native Chattanoogan and attended The McCallie School and The University of the South.

His 21-year career in commercial real estate started at CBL as district manager of leasing, followed by similar positions with Highwoods Properties and M.D. Hodges.

Tugman later served as vice president and regional director of leasing at DCT Industrial.

Moving back to Chattanooga, Tugman directed companywide restaurant site selection for Craftworks Restaurants and Breweries as their vice president of real estate.

Most recently, Tugman was a partner at SquareOne Realty, where he oversaw the day-to-day operations of the commercial and residential real estate companies.

With offices in Chattanooga (832 Georgia Avenue) and Charlotte, North Carolina, Rise Partners is a commercial real estate investment and development firm that has acquired and repositioned more than $100 million in real estate assets across the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic since its inception in 2017.

Collectively, the principals of Rise Partners have managed more than 30 million square feet of retail real estate, completed more than 10 million square feet of development and redevelopment projects, and underwritten and closed acquisitions totaling $7 billion.

Their experience spans a multitude of property types, including large regional power centers, regional malls, grocery-anchored centers, single-tenant net-leased buildings, distribution centers, office buildings and mixed-use developments.
