Confluent Medical to launch operations in Chattanooga

Confluent Medical officials say the company will launch operations in Chattanooga.

The company will invest $8.3 million to expand its capabilities to manufacture high-performance medical tubing. The project will create about 80 jobs in Hamilton County over the next few years.

Headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona, Confluent Medical develops medical devices for medical device companies. Confluent specializes in vascular implantable Nitinol, implantable textiles, balloon catheters and complex catheters.

“Tennessee continues to make strides in the life sciences realm,” says Tennessee Department of Economic & Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe. “Companies in this industry provide high-wage, high-growth opportunities to Tennesseans, and we appreciate Confluent Medical for choosing to invest and create jobs in our state.”

“The Chattanooga area is an ideal location for us to provide what we expect will eventually be hundreds of jobs producing life-saving

medical devices,” says Doug Hutchison, chief commercial officer at Confluent Medical. “The pool of skilled workers is perfect for recruiting for these technical and manufacturing positions.”
