Newsweek has identified Siskin Hospital as one of America’s best physical rehabilitation facilities in a national ranking.
The magazine recognizes Siskin as one of five top physical rehabilitation facilities in Tennessee and in the top 15% in the country.
Newsweek based its list of Best Physical Rehab Centers on a survey of thousands of medical experts along with data from the U.S. Centers of Medicare & Medicaid Services.
National rankings are published on Newsweek.com and in the August print edition.
Scores measured reputation and a number of quality indicators for individual inpatient rehabilitation facilities, including quality of service and care.
Quality indicators were based on scores on several measures available from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
Thousands of medical experts participated in a survey to recommend high-performing facilities. The survey included IRFs in states with the highest number of physical rehabilitation centers, according to data obtained from CMS.
IRFs are free-standing rehabilitation hospitals and rehabilitation units in acute-care hospitals.
