Commercial real estate agent Zac Adams is joining the Robinson Team of Keller Williams Realty. He has more than 15 years of experience in sales.
Born in Dalton, Georgia, Adams began his career as a competitive swim coach after earning a degree in broadcast journalism at Louisiana State University, where he was a three-time letter winner and SEC finalist on the collegiate swimming team.
Adams coached all ages in Baton Rouge, Raleigh and the Atlanta area before becoming head coach at Anderson Swimming Club in Anderson, South Carolina, in 2008.
He then was named assistant swim coach at Clemson University in 2010, followed by serving as director of operations for the Florida State University athletic department in 2011. He concluded his coaching career as an assistant swim coach at Georgia Tech.
For the past eight years, Adams first worked in sales for Arena USA and then served as director of competitive swimming for Adidas Swim.
Adams says making the move to commercial real estate sales is a natural progression.
“Having played competitive sports all my life, I’ve always been driven by learning from mistakes and finding ways to better myself. I joke that because of this, I have become a ‘jack of all trades but master of none,’” Adams says.
“The biggest lessons sports and sales has taught me is the ability to problem solve. This has prepared me to dive into my new role headfirst and look forward to the challenges that come with commercial real estate.”
Adams is the son of Brent Adams, who was inducted into both the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Hall of Fame and the Greater Chattanooga Sports Hall of Fame in 2017.
A four-year starter in the offensive line at UTC, he was voted the team’s most valuable player as well as its most valuable offensive player as a senior in 1974.
Brent Adams was an eighth-round draft choice of the Atlanta Falcons and broke into their starting lineup as a rookie in 1975. He played with Atlanta through 1978 and finished his five-year NFL career with the Los Angeles Rams.
Zac’s sister, Merritt, swam at Northwestern University and currently works in pediatric orthopedics at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga.
“I’m proud of the legacy my father left at UTC and in Chattanooga as a whole,’’ Adams says. “He’s always taught me to excel in everything I do, and I’m honored to continue his legacy in this great community I’m lucky to call home.”
