Best-selling author, actress to speak at Embrace Aging Forum

Tembi Locke

The author of the New York Times best-selling book “From Scratch” will deliver the keynote address at Chambliss, Bahner & Stophel’s fourth annual Embrace Aging Forum.

Tembi Locke will share her personal experiences as a caregiver and the importance of creating a community when it matters most.

“My journey caring for my late husband taught me the depth of the human experience,” Locke says.

“I’m proud to honor his memory and our journey together by advocating for the needs of caregivers who are experiencing life’s unexpected twists and turns.”

Locke will share her experiences at the annual event, planned for Thursday, Aug. 20, at the DoubleTree Hotel, 407 Chestnut St. in downtown Chattanooga.

The event will connect seniors and their families to community resources and perspectives on all areas of life, including health and wellness, family relationships, housing and care, finances and legal planning.

“At Chambliss, we want our community to not only know but embrace the many opportunities for life after retirement,” says Dana Perry, certified elder law attorney and elder law practice group chair.

“The Embrace Aging Forum offers an opportunity to connect with some of the top resources and leaders in the aging field.”

Reese Witherspoon chose “From Scratch” as the May 2019 pick for her book club, Hello Sunshine. Witherspoon will adapt the book as a Netflix limited series starring Zoe Saldana.

Locke is also known for her acting roles in “The Obituary of Tunde Johnson,” “Dumb and Dumber To,” “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend,” “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” “The Magicians,” “Proven Innocent” and “NCIS: LA.”

Sponsorship opportunities are available to regional businesses and organizations.
