Events: Pride Month Networking




The Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce will present the 2019 Pride Month Networking event Friday, June 28, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., at Miller Park. Food trucks will be serving local fare, and Mayor Andy Berke will speak.

Pops on the River

The 2019 Pops on the River Independence Day celebration will take place Wednesday, July 3, 5 p.m., in Coolidge Park. The event will feature a free patriotic concert by the Chattanooga Symphony & Opera and performances from veteran songwriters with Operation Song. A large fireworks display is scheduled for its conclusion at approximately 9:45 p.m. Food and drink concessions will be available on site. The public is invited to bring lawn chairs and blankets.

Barefoot Nellie to headline July 4 celebration

The Jewish Federation of Greater Chattanooga invites the community to celebrate Independence Day with an indoor picnic Thursday, July 4,11:30 a.m., at the Jewish Cultural Center, 5461 North Terrace Road. Local bluegrass band Barefoot Nellie will headline the event. Grilled chicken, potato salad, coleslaw and dessert are on the menu. Tickets

Strike Out bowling tournament

The Medical Foundation of Chattanooga will host the Strike Out bowling tournament Saturday, July 13, 2-4 p.m., at Spare Time Bowling in Hixson. The event will benefit Project Access, which enables area physicians to provide free medical care. Register

Q ‘n Brew

The Chattanooga Zoo will host this annual event Saturday, July 20, 6-9 p.m. Tickets include zoo admission during the event, a signature Q ‘n Brew cup, two beverage tickets, animal encounters, live art, live music, games and the opportunity to purchase dinner plates from vendors. National summer program for students

A leadership and entrepreneurial program for rising seventh- through rising 10th-graders is coming to Chattanooga for the first time.
