Events: Decorating clinic taught by White House Christmas decorator




White House volunteer decorator Brandon Carruth will host a decorating clinic Saturday, Nov. 17, at The Great Christmas Shop in Chattanooga. The clinic will focus on how to decorate a tree, mantle and wreath. The event is free but requires registration. Those interested in attending can register at The Great Christmas Shop’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/greatchristmasshopChattanooga). The Great Backyard Place is located 6240 Perimeter Drive. Crossing the Cumberlands

On Saturday, Nov. 17, stories and sounds from traditional and modern musicians will converge at the Tivoli Theatre for “Crossing the Cumberlands,” a night of music to benefit the Cumberland Trail. The concert will feature Sierra Hull, a new leader in the acoustic music world with mandolin albums produced by Alison Krauss and Bela Fleck. Concert proceeds will support the maintenance and protection of the Cumberland Trail, a 300-mile corridor and hiking trail running from the Cumberland Gap to the edge of Chattanooga. 7 p.m. Information Tickets

Grateful Gobbler Walk

Registration is open for the 19th annual Grateful Gobbler Walk, taking place Thanksgiving morning, 8 a.m., at Coolidge Park. Teams and individuals can register to walk, volunteer or donate at www.gratefulgobblerwalk.org. The proceeds will benefit the Maclellan Shelter for Families, which features 13 units with 64 beds.
