The Architecture, Construction and Engineering Mentor Program of Southeast Tennessee and North Georgia is raising scholarship funds for architecture, construction and engineering students.
ACE is an after school mentoring program through which high school students meet with architects, engineers and builders to learn about careers in the design and construction industry.
Students work on a real-world project and have the opportunity to compete for scholarships to pursue an ACE career beyond high school.
Currently in its third month for the 2018-19 school year, students have visited the Edney Building, learned about Chattanooga’s Innovation District and started work on their project – the redevelopment of the City Hall Annex located at 100 E. 11th St.
Scholarship applications are being accepted now. To be eligible for scholarships, students must purse higher education in one of the ACE fields. Scholarships will be awarded at ACE’s annual banquet in January.
“The ACE Mentor program encourages students to further their interest and education in the industry,” says Jim Williamson, current board president and vice president of River City Company.
“By supporting ACE alumni, the program contributes to fulfilling future industry work force needs. Your financial support goes directly to students, helping them achieve their goals.”
