Dr. Lee and Sharron Jackson and Dan and Amber Norton will co-chair CHI Memorial Foundation’s 14th annual Pink! Gala, to be held Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019 at the Chattanooga Convention Center.
The Jacksons and Nortons have been involved with the Pink! gala for many years as Pink! has raised more than $4 million to ensure the MaryEllen Locher Breast Center at CHI Memorial has access to the highest level of breast care available.
Dr. Jackson treats prostate and bladder cancer through minimally invasive robotic technology. Dan Norton is a financial advisor at Lawson Winchester Wealth Management. He and his wife co-chaired the 2012 March of Dimes Gourmet Gala. Amber Norton is a senior sales representative with Merck Women’s Health.
Waterhouse expands team
Waterhouse Public Relations has expanded its team with the addition of Kelsey Chastain, a communications professional and award-winning journalist. In her role as an account executive, she will focus on client needs, strategy and media relations.
Chastain comes to Waterhouse with experience as a communications professional across several areas including broadcast news, print media and radio. Previously as marketing and communications manager of a Chattanooga-based lifestyle magazine, Chastain steered the layout and content generation of the monthly publication and led communications with clients and the community.
In a prior role as a reporter at WTVC News Channel 9, she received a first-place award from the Tennessee Associated Press for her journalism abilities.
Chastain is an Atlanta-area native and proud to call Chattanooga home with her husband and dog.
HHM names Morris COO
HHM CPAs, a CPA and consulting firm with locations in Chattanooga and Memphis, has appointed Pam Morris chief operating officer, a new position within the firm.
Morris began her career at HHM in 2013 as partner and served in her role until 2015, when she co-found Freight Depot Accounting, an affiliate company of HHM. FDA launched in 2015 with the full support of the firm to provide startups, small to medium-size businesses and nonprofits with professional accounting services.
As HHM’s COO, Morris will oversee the daily operations and administrative processes of all departments. She will set goals to drive growth and continue improving client experiences while leading employees to encourage high performance and retention. Morris will continue her involvement within FDA, leaving the operations manager to oversee day-to-day processes while she focuses on her new COO position.
Morris has held many high-level management positions during her 30-year tax and accounting career. She has served as a partner at a regional accounting firm, where she was responsible for tax planning and consulting for multi-entity companies. She has also owned several small businesses and served as regional controller for a multinational gas company.
Morris currently serves on the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga College of Business Dean’s Advisory Board and is a mentor to a Dean’s Advisory Board Scholarship recipient.
Forensic and Fraud adds investigator
Amie Haun has joined Forensic and Fraud Investigations, a forensic accounting and consulting firm, as an investigator and director of training and education.
Haun is an accounting lecturer for the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Gary W. Rollins College of Business. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from UTC and an Executive Master’s in Business Administration from Auburn University.
Haun is a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Institute of Management Accountants, Chattanooga Women’s Leadership Institute and the FBI’s InfraGard.
Haun currently serves as the chair of the city of Chattanooga Audit Committee and on the Board of the Chattanooga Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
Mauldin & Jenkins names new partner
Mauldin & Jenkins, an Atlanta-based CPA firm, has promoted Heather Batson to partner. Batson has been with the firm’s Chattanooga branch since 2003. She graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a Bachelor of Science in accounting and finance in 2001 and a Master of Accountancy in 2003.
Batson’s experience includes audits for financial institutions, including public companies, not-for-profit organizations and employee benefit plans.
She is a member of AICPA and the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants. She serves UTC’s accounting advisory board.
