The new season of Noontunes, a weekly free concert series, is underway in the newly opened Miller Park. Sponsored by Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union, Noontunes is a Wednesday showcase at noon featuring local Chattanooga musicians. Upcoming artists include folk trio Spinster, hip hop artist Floami Fly, jazz performer Mary Loves Jazz and funk fusion group Over Easy. Apple festival at Chattanooga Market
The Chattanooga Market will host its first apple festival Sunday, Sept. 30 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Tennessee Pavilion. Market vendors will be incorporating apples into their food and art products, with apple strudel, apple sauce, salads and more expected to be for sale.
Erlanger Dodson community resources fair

AEGIS to host annual luncheon
AEGIS Law Enforcement Foundation will host its annual fundraiser luncheon Tuesday, Oct. 2 at 11:30 a.m. at the Chattanooga Convention Center. Keynote speaker Lt. Gen. Mark Hertling will discuss terrorism in Chattanooga, national security and leadership. Hertling served for 37 years in the U.S. Army, retiring as commanding general of the U.S. Army Europe and Seventh Army. He is now a national security, intelligence and terrorism analyst for CNN. AEGIS is a non-profit that provides technology, specialized training and support to law enforcement in greater Chattanooga and North Georgia.
CCA to perform ‘Postcards from Broadway’
Chattanooga High School Center for Creative Arts (CCA) will present the Choo Kids fall show, “Postcards from Broadway,” Tuesday, Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. in the CCA auditorium. The original musical revue will feature 14 high school performers presenting hits from several Broadway shows including “Ain’t Misbehavin’,” “The Pajama Game,” “The Boy from Oz,” “Footloose,” “Young Frankenstein” and more. CVB to host first Chattanooga Tourism Summit
The Chattanooga Convention & Visitors Bureau will host the first Chattanooga Tourism Summit on Tuesday, Oct. 9 from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Chattanooga Convention Center. This event replaces the former CVB annual meeting.
The summit will include lunch, a performance by local musician Rick Rushing and a new expo featuring travel and tourism-related businesses. Barry White, the new president and chief executive officer of the CVB, will be sharing the importance of tourism in Chattanooga and the organization’s vision for tourism over the next few years.
Bill Geist, chief instigator at DMOproz, will provide the keynote address.
