Airshow legends Michael Goulian, Patty Wagstaff and Buck Roetman will headline the field of aerobatic performers during the Wings Over North Georgia Air Show, taking place Oct. 13-14.
Millions of airshow spectators worldwide have witnessed Goulian’s performance. Goulian holds the lead position for the Red Bull Air Race series.
As a six-time member of the U.S. Aerobatic Team, Wagstaff has won gold, silver, and bronze medals in Olympic-level international aerobatic competitions. The daughter of a commercial airlines pilot, Wagstaff was the first woman to win the title of U.S. National Aerobatic Champion and one of a few pilots to win it multiple times.
Roetman’s bright yellow modified Christen Eagle is well known among airshow regulars. Two things set the plane apart from similar aircraft. The first is its Lycoming IO360 4-cylinder engine, built by Penn Yan Aero and pumped up to 250 horsepower.
The second is Roetman’s 35 years of experience at the stick. He’s flown more than 105 types of airplanes, from Cubs to corporate jets, racking up more than 13,500 hours of flight time.
Roetman specializes in aircraft acquisition, fabrication and export as the owner of Wild Horse Aviation.
The seventh annual Wings Over North Georgia Air Show will take place at Russell Regional Airport in Rome, Georgia. The 2018 air show is co-headlined by the U.S. Air Force F-22 Raptor and A-10 Thunderbolt Demonstration Teams and “Tora! Tora! Tora!” a full-scale re-enactment of the attack on Pearl Harbor.
The lineup also includes performances by Scott Yoak’s P-51 Mustang, Jim Tobul’s F4U Corsair, Scott Farnsworth’s L-39 and the US SOCOM Para-Commandos Parachute Team.
