Consumer Credit Counseling Service, a program of Partnership for Families, Children, and Adults, has received a $2,500 grant from Wells Fargo designated for Homeowner Education and Foreclosure Counseling. CCCS will use the funds to support its homeownership education course, “The Keys to Your Future.”
The first four-week course began on September 19, with classes continuing on subsequent Thursdays. Covered topics will include: budgeting and credit; obtaining a mortgage loan; shopping for a home; and protecting your investment.
In addition to group coursework, participants will also have the opportunity to work one-on-one with a financial coach to improve their credit scores. Though the course is valued at $125, “The Keys to Your Future” is currently being offered free of charge thanks to the funding received through Wells Fargo, as well as United Way of Chattanooga and the Tennessee Housing Development Agency.
Upon receiving the check from Wells Fargo, CFO Robert Taylor said, “We’re grateful for the generous support from Wells Fargo and the opportunity to provide this essential education to the community. The Wells Fargo grant will allow individuals to not only be prepared for the unexpected, but also to be equipped with the necessary knowledge to begin home ownership.”
