Davis Reeves of Soddy Daisy, Tenn., appeared in the bright lights of Broadway, Sept. 20 as part of the National Down Syndrome Society’s (NDSS) annual Times Square Video presentation. The featured photographs highlight children, teens, and adults with Down syndrome working, playing, and learning alongside friends and family.

The photo of Davis, who has Down syndrome, was selected from over 2,000 entries in the NDSS worldwide call for photos. Over 220 photographs appeared in the video, which was shown in the heart of Times Square. Davis is pictured with his baby brother Thomas.

I was filled with pride and joy to discover that a picture of my babies was selected to represent the NDSS values of inclusion and acceptance and to be shared worldwide from Times Square,” Davis’s mom, Kari Reeves, said. “As parents, we all strive for our kids to be happy and accepted by others, whether our children have Down syndrome, have other diagnoses, or are typically developing. We are in this together to create a better present and a better future for our children.”

The Times Square Video presentation took place ahead of Down Syndrome Awareness Month in October.
