SouthEast Bank is funding scholarships for neighborhood micro schools operated by Chattanooga Christian School.
Micro schools are small K-5th grade schools located in area churches. The first school, The King School, opened in downtown Chattanooga in 2019. Since then, CCS has opened two more micro schools.
The educational model includes technology integration, math instruction with coding and individualized literacy instruction. A low student-to-teacher ratio, regular progress monitoring and an emphasis on fundamentals like reading and math also characterize the micro schools.
The donation provided by SouthEast Bank will help provide scholarships to a diverse population of young students for three years.
Farragut, Tennessee-headquartered SouthEast Bank has donated more than $23 million to educational support programs across Tennessee.
