BASF donates $5,000 to high school STEAM programs

BASF in Chattanooga recently donated $1,000 to five high schools in Chattanooga to support each school’s STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math) education curriculum. The donations help local students achieve their educational goals in these fields.

The five recipients of BASF’s donation were Central High, Hamilton County Virtual School, STEM School Chattanooga, Tyner Academy and Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts.

At least one student from each of these schools participated in BASF’s TECH Academy, a weeklong education and workforce development program designed to introduce students to technical and craft careers through skills classes, workshops and industry tours.

BASF hosts TECH Academy annually in collaboration with Chattanooga State Community College.

BASF’s TECH Academy encourages students to explore and apply knowledge across various fields of study, including manufacturing, robotics, engineering and more. Applications for next year’s TECH Academy will open in early 2024. Read more at bit.ly/techacademycha2023.
