Newsmakers: Branum joins Chamber as director of accounting




Jesse Branum will serve as the director of accounting of the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce. Prior to joining the Chattanooga Chamber, Branum served as accounting manager for Bake Crafters, where he oversaw six companies.

Branum holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and business management from the University of Phoenix and has received a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification.

Erlanger welcomes two pediatric specialists

Children’s Hospital at Erlanger recently welcomed two new pediatric specialists: Drs. William Gaylord and Rashmi Patil.

Gaylord is a fellowship-trained pediatric hematologist and oncologist at Children’s Hematology and Oncology. He earned his medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean in St. Maarten. He completed a residency in pediatrics at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine – Chattanooga before attending the Indiana University School of Medicine, where he completed a fellowship and served as chief fellow in the pediatric hematology oncology program.

Patil is a fellowship-trained pediatric gastroenterologist at Children’s Gastroenterology. She earned her medical degree from the University of Michigan while earning a Master of Public Health from Johns Hopkins University.

Patil completed a pediatrics residency at the University of Alabama in Birmingham, Alabama, before completing her fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.

Patil’s special interests include pancreatic disease, gastrointestinal manifestations of cystic fibrosis, nutrition management of chronic disease and health equity. She’s been involved in several research projects, publications and outreach programs throughout her career.
