Chattanooga Police officers, professional staff, community members and partner agencies were recently honored for service at the department’s annual awards ceremony.
Each year the CPD honors officers and civilians who’ve performed an exceptional act or served in an exceptional manner. The recipients represent examples of bravery, dedication and extraordinary work ethic.
“This is a night when we recognize single events that illustrate what the men and women of the Chattanooga Police Department do every single day of the year,” David Roddy, CPD chief, says.
“What’s not lost is the other 364 nights these men and women went home without their efforts being recognized, but that’s still part of the job and they do it without question, without fear, without favor, without hesitation every single day for this community.”
The honorees are:
- Officer of the Year: Officer Jeremiah Cook
- Patrol Officer of the Year: Officer Benjamin Piazza
- Investigator of the Year: Investigator Terry Barnes
- Civilian of the Year: Sue Poole
- Rookie of the Year: Officer Chris Bruce
- Supervisor of the Year: Sergeant Vinnie Holoman
- Manager of the Year: Captain Jonathan Bryant
- Victim Support Service (Neighborhood Policing): Sergeant Jason Wood
- Victim Support Service (Investigations): Investigator Bryon Boller
- Life Saving Awards: Officers Chad Yates, Josh Day, Joseph Seech, John Doub, Joseph Dorman, Rebekah Schwartz, Daniel Russell, Brian McClard, Lee Mayweather, John Barnett, Jennifer Lockhart, Joseph Sanchez, Gary Frisbee, Adam Krystaponis and Chiniqua Favors
