Nothing in life can’t be made better by changing the way you look at it. While this is a simple truth, it’s easier said than done. Assuming it’s true, why don’t more of us simply change the way we look at life so our lives will be better?
How many of us walk around and wish our lives were different? How often do you focus on the bad things that are happening and forget about all the good things you have? Take 30 seconds and look around the room you are in right now. Look around and identify every thing in the room that is red. Once you have done that, close your eyes and try to remember all the things in the room that are blue. It’s hard to do since you know you’ll be trying to identify the red things, but you get the idea.
We usually see what we want to see in life. How much better would your life be if you opened your mind and considered things from a different perspective? Maybe your life wouldn’t exactly be better, but a realignment of your focus could take away some stress and open your eyes to a better way to travel through life.
For instance, if you realize certain things can’t be changed, then you can start dealing with the way you are going to maximize your position. Worrying about something that can’t be changed is a waste of time. If all you see is red, your attitude will suffer.
The worse thing that can happen is we allow others to control our attitude on life. Letting the negative attitude of another control the way we feel is tantamount to giving over control of your life. Any time spent stewing about the way someone else acts is time sacrificed out of your own journey through life.
This is not to say one doesn’t have to deal with problems in life. Life goes on, and things have to be dealt with. The trick is keeping your eye on the ball. Change the things you can and don’t worry about the things you can’t. Life is a game. If you play your best and do all you can to overcome adversity, then you must be content that you have done all you can do. If you haven’t done all you can do, then any negative attitude that stems from that is on you. The simple way to fix that is to step up and play your best game.
Nothing about life is easy. Just like a roller coaster, you can either think of it as a fun ride or a combination of horrific ups and downs. The coaster is the same no matter how you look at it. Fun or foe - it’s up to you. Why not enjoy the ride?
Think about the way you look at life and then consider how you can make what you see better. YOU are in control of the way you see and react to life. NO ONE should make it harder on themselves than it has to be. That’s true for everybody, especially those of us way up in the CHEAP SEATS!
