A major expansion and improvement program will be carried out at Newell Clinic Hospital, Edward Newell, Jr., president of the hospital announced. A third story will be added to the south wing and a modernization program throughout the hospital where needed.

“Champions Celebration Night” was observed at Engle Stadium Monday night by happy Lookout fans celebrating the winning of Chattanooga’s fourth pennant in almost three decades.

Douglas A. Meyer, a young Chattanooga lawyer who has been active in civic and political affairs, was appointed an assistant district attorney general by Attorney General Edward E. Davis, to fill the vacancy created by the recent resignation of Jack R. Brown.

Burlington Industries, Inc., confirmed Wednesday that it is negotiating for the sale of Peerless Woolen Mills properties in Rossville, Cleveland and Tifton, Ga.

Chattanooga Realtor Pat St. Charles told the Junior Chamber of Commerce that tracts in the Westside project “Golden Gateway” would probably be priced and ready for re-sale and redevelopment in the next 60 days.
